
The Toronto Argonauts are members of the East Division of the Canadian Football League.
The franchise was founded in 1873, and is the oldest existing professional sport team in North America.


The Argonauts have won the Grey Cup championship a record fifteen times, most recently in 2004.
The Argos begin the 2012 season, their 139th, with a new head coach, Scott Milanovich, and a new quarterback, Rickie Ray who played 9 seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos.
The team has several nicknames, including "Argos", "Boatmen", "Double Blue", and "Scullers."

The team colours are Oxford Blue, Cambridge Blue and White. They are the colours of the Argonaut Rowing Club that founded the team. The rowing club adopted the shades of blue from Oxford and Cambridge Universities that had renowned rowing teams
The Argos are owned by David Braley, who purchased them in February 2010. Braley owns Orlick Industries, a leading auto parts manufacturer and has been owner of the B.C. Lions since 1997.

The Argos have played their home games at Rogers Centre (above) since the stadium opened in 1989 under the name SkyDome. Prior to that, they played in Exhibition Stadium from 1959 to 1988 and before that at Varsity Stadium, on the campus of the University of Toronto.
The 30 cheerleaders not only perform at Argonaut games but also appear at charitable, non-profit, community, educational and corporate events throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
